Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Production Engineer (Technician) to join our solar manufacturing team. The Production Engineer will be responsible for hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment to ensure smooth production operations. The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical or electrical engineering and a strong commitment to quality and safety.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on manufacturing equipment according to established schedules to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct production line start- up at the beginning of the shift and closes down at the end of the shift.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures, utilizing technical knowledge and diagnostic tools.
  • Conduct repairs and adjustments on equipment components, such as motors, conveyors, sensors, and controllers, to restore functionality.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to develop and implement equipment upgrades, modifications, and improvements.
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment and production lines.
  • Monitor equipment performance and operation parameters, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Document maintenance activities, equipment changes, and repairs in maintenance logs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and maintainability.
  • Train production operators and technicians on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting equipment schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Corrected vision to normal range; normal hearing and talking is required for verbal communications
  • Ability to use a variety of office equipment and machines
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering, mandarin speaking preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in industrial maintenance or engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing environment or solar manufacturing environment.
