Qualifications:
  1. Experience in Medical Records
  2. Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
  3. Strong data entry skills, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Attention to detail to ensure accuracy
  4. Familiarity with medical terminology
  5. Basic computer skills to scan, organize, and access electronic health records
Job Functions:
  1. Preparing patient charts and gathering information and documents from patients
  2. ICD-10 coding
  3. Ensuring that the medical records are organized, accurate, and complete
  4. Creating digital copies of paperwork and storing the records electronically
  5. Filing the paperwork and reports of inpatients quickly and accurately
  6. Safeguarding patient records and ensuring that everyone complies with the HIPAA standards
  7. Transferring data into the facility's central system database
  8. Processing the records for admitting and discharging patients
