The IT Support Specialist is responsible for day-to-day support, maintenance and troubleshooting of computers, printers and other devices. They also assist in coordinating and implementing technology related projects related to the desktop computer environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- IT Support Specialists perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of information technology problems (i.e. those involving computers, networks, IP phones, wireless, printers, scanners, etc.). Recommend and implement solutions. Assist with the resolution of service desk incidents and document requests in a timely manner.
- Configure, test, install, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot end-user workstations, related hardware and software to deliver desktop service levels.
- Participate in projects following corporate standards and best practice.
- Ensure that key stakeholders both inside and outside of Information Technology are updated on project status, issues, barriers, etc.
- Assist with maintaining critical support documentation in the enterprise defined knowledge repository.
- Assist with inventory and asset management records.
- IT Support Specialists assist with the implementation of enterprise defined security policies (hardware and software) and assist with the monitoring of compliance for users, systems and devices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Associates degree in related field preferred.
- Three to five years of job related experience with demonstrated competence.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations.
- Proven success troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and end-user issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Demonstrated skills supporting PC desktop and laptop hardware.
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.
- Practical knowledge of networking fundamentals.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Office products.
- Knowledge of VoIP and general phone system operation a plus.
- Demonstrated communication skills both written and verbal.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Regular on-site attendance is required.
