Overview We are seeking an individual with a background in Radio Frequency (RF) environments. Experience with Link 16 within a Test and Engineering (TandE) lab setting is highly desirable. Responsibilities Essential Functions/Job Duties: Provide RF support functions for the MIDS Program Office (MPO) and Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific. Perform RF and System Test engineering efforts for MIDS-LVT and JTRS terminals including support for planning, documentation, test conduct, training, and other requirements. Provide set-up, activation, operation, and troubleshooting support for Navy external communications systems and systems integration efforts. Executes tests and data analysis in accordance with the test plan guidance. Provides support to develop and/or provide input to pre-test and post-test documentation (e.g. Test Plan, Test Procedures, automated scripts, Daily Status Reports (DSR), Quick Look Reports (QLR), and Test Reports). Use the resultant data to develop, propose, and/or implement solutions to any issues. Provides operations and troubleshooting expertise in support of test events, including remote support for off-site participants. Travel to CONUS/OCONUS project sites to provide operator and technical support as required. Customer Interface Activities: Suitable inter-personnel and customer service skills required to interface with corporate customers. Ability to effectively communicate with the Customer, NIWC Pacific Center's staff, and peer contractor personnel. Written Communication: Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively with a high degree of competency. Independently generates documentation that presents information in a logical manner. Verbal Communication: Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills. Active communicator - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate. Typical Working Conditions: General office environment with US Government provided NMCI Computer and peripheral equipment Equipment Used: Laptop Computer and peripheral equipment Qualifications Skills/Qualifications: Basic knowledge and experience with Radio Frequency (RF)/Microwave electronics and antennas for communication systems. Two (2) years experience with RF/Microwave data communications systems in a radio propagation environment, including those operating within the Medium/High Frequency (MF/HF), Very High Frequency (VHF), Ultra High Frequency (UHF), Extremely High Frequency (EHF), and Super High Frequency (SHF) to include systems/equipment. Experience with set-up and operation of RF/Microwave communications systems used for data transportation, signal routing systems, and other interface and computer control equipment/systems. Familiarization with the set-up and proper use of multi-meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and associated communication systems test equipment. Essential Physical Tasks: Ability to lift >10 lbs. on an occasional basis. Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis. Flexibility/Work Schedule: 9/80 Able to efficiently adapt to new priorities. This includes effectively multitasking project responsibilities with an awareness to support changes as needed. The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements. Travel: Possibility of Domestic and International travel up to 15% of the time by automobile, air, etc. Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, EE, ME, IE, or Physics is desired Pay Range: $75,000.00 to $90,000.00 annually, DOE U.S. Citizenship is required Security Clearance: Se ret Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
