Hydraulic Engineer

We're looking for a Hydraulics Design Engineer to support the development of Transportation Projects. Responsibilities will include the design and analysis of open and closed storm drainage systems for linear transportation projects, hydraulic culvert/bridge design, and permitting. The desired candidate can also develop erosion and sediment pollution control design plans, as well as abilities to supplement design efforts of the overall civil/highway group.
Location

This position will report to our Raleigh office at least 3 days a week. Other days will be worked remotely.
The Impact You Will Have
  • Perform hydrology/hydraulic analysis for the design and construction of transportation projects
  • Perform stormwater management system and pond design
  • Provide fieldwork assistance to verify existing site conditions
What You Will Need
  • Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of technical design of transportation projects
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
  • PE required; ability to obtain North Carolina PE
  • MicroStation, GEOPAK drainage, and HEC-RAS experience
  • Experience developing deliverables per NCDOT standards and requirements (including BSR/CSR) is preferred
  • Experience in erosion and sediment pollution control design (NCDOT Level III Certification a plus)
  • Working knowledge of NCDOT Guidelines for Drainage Studies and Hydraulic Design
  • Working knowledge of the FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form
  • Develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner
