BASIC SCOPE/PURPOSE

Summary: Process Engineer will work independently as well as collaborate with cross functional departments for the optimization, design, and improvement of operational processes. The position will help in areas such as inventory control, inbound, put away, order processing, quality control, and information management. The role will make recommendations, and act on improving workflow while driving continuous improvement in process design, cost savings, quality, and resource utilization.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative style but also the ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
  • Assist in planning utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations in our fulfillment centers throughout the network.
  • Assist site leadership with forecasts, staffing and material handling equipment needs to improve cost, utilization, service, and efficiencies.
  • Conducts time studies to determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow by analyzing costs, process flow charts, and customer requirements.
  • Recommends and creates work methods for maximizing the utilization of facilities and personnel reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchasing equipment in adherence with governmental, health, safety, and other regulations.
  • Monitors and evaluates service and cost management.
  • Works closely with the project management and quality compliance teams to ensure the operations are driving quality through efficiency while adhering to compliance standards.
  • Supports operations and indirect support to the overall Innovation Strategy Road Map.
  • Lead process improvements and implement change to continuously compete in our markets.
  • Generate SOPs to support production processes and equipment design for existing and new clients.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Undergraduate degree in supply chain, logistics, other related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 3 + years of experience in process engineering or process improvement, preferably in multi-location logistics.
  • Advanced experience with application such as: Visio, Smart sheets, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Auto-Cad skills a plus but not required.
  • Prior experience with lean six sigma preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will utilize process engineering and lean concepts.

Work Environment
  • Office / Warehouse Mix: This job operates in a warehouse environment. This role will require the ability to, on occasion, go in and out of trailers, navigate around roller racks, and other logistical equipment within a warehouse setting. The position will also require travel of both in air and driving.
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee’s work environment may vary from professional office to fulfillment center floor, and other vendor/client locations.
