Responsibilities

Assists registered nurse and/or physicians with exams and procedures; takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure; administers medications and injections according to orders; maintains patient records; performs various routine tests and procedures, including dipstick urinalysis, hematocrits, EKG s, tympanometry, audiometry, inhalation therapy, pregnancy tests, and blood glucose; maintains inventories of clinical supplies and medications; ensures that patient examination rooms are ready for use by patients, and that rooms are stocked with supplies and equipment; completes call backs to parents/guardians of patients by phone; calls prescriptions to pharmacies; prepares lab, X-ray request and referral forms; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; and related duties as required.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing meeting the minimum standards set by the State of Alabama. Licensure with the State of Alabama as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
