Kennedy Space Center, United States Jacobs Full time

We are launching people to the Moon and Mars. If you want to be part of this amazing mission and enjoy working in a great team environment, we would love to have you as part of our team that is making history, today. It takes big ideas and determination to take NASA's vision and make it reality. That's what we do every day.

The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

Comprehension of the system architecture will be key to the design and performance of system level test events. The System Software Test Engineer will be responsible for creating and performing test campaigns for newly created software. The successful candidate will have the technical background to be able to learn and apply knowledge in system level acceptance testing on a large scale, multi-platform architecture.

You must be a quick learner, be able to work both independently and in groups, self-starter and highly motivated. You will be joining a strong team with a history of superior performance in a challenging and rewarding endeavor.

Responsibilities

Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

·     Support Verification of the Launch Control Subsystem (LCS) System Software while working directly with multiple groups that provide support to the System Test Team.

·       Support Verification testing by creating new test and performance monitoring capabilities to very system level requirements.

·     Support the Test Engineering group for the LCS as a team environment, interfacing to multiple test groups associated with the Space Launch System (SLS) Firing Room.

·    Participate in training independently or in a team environment, to gain an understanding of LCS and the methods by which performance testing is accomplished.

·    Participate in various design panels, technical assessments, and System Use Case Analysis Tasks to understand how new capabilities will impact the various CSCIs and system design, along with dependencies from other software as it relates to these new capabilities.

·       Perform other duties within the Test Engineering department to include presentations, group discussions, and process improvements.

·       Perform other duties as assigned.

Access to Kennedy Space Center Amenities

While doing your part to help further space exploration at Kennedy Space Center, you can enjoy many on-site amenities, such as:
