Rotating (United States of America) Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support our Outpatient Pharmacy Team

This is a full time (40hrs/wk) position based out of Norfolk General Hospital and provides on site support to our 7 hospitals in the Hampton Roads and Peninsula area

Includes Travel to: Sentara Virginia Beach General, Sentara Princess Anne, Sentara Norfolk General, Sentara Leigh, Sentara Obici, Sentara Careplex, Sentara Williamsburg Regional

Schedule provided in advance for location and hours

Work schedule: Rotating 8 hour shifts, M-F from 8:45am to 7:15pm

Status: Full Time (40 Hours Per Week)

Mileage reimbursement for Travel

Occasional Saturdays (8:45-3:30pm)

Occasionally will cover Holidays (8:45-3pm)

Required qualifications:

  • Virginia Pharmacy Technician license REQUIRED

  • CPhT license through PTCB or NHA -required if licensed in VA after 7/1/2021

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1 year Pharmacy Technician experience preferred

  • Prior hospital experience preferred

Job responsibilities:

Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. Measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders. Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused, and cost-efficient drug therapy.
