Position Overview

Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT’s) monitor and assist clients in the residential milieu, lead activities designed to help the residents adjust to living in a community setting and assist the residents in gaining the skills needed to manage their eating disorder. BHT’s play an integral role in the day-to-day function of the clients’ experience.

The Emily Program has Adolescent and Adult Residential facilities in St Paul and Minneapolis.

Schedules

Days: 6am-2:30pm or 8am-4:30pm, Evenings: 2-10:30pm or 4pm-12:30am and Overnights: 12-8:30am

Full time, benefits eligible is 0.8 FTE (32 hours a week) with every other weekend required

Part time is 0.4 FTE (20 hours a week) with every other weekend required

How BHT’s Empower Recovery

  • Partners with the multi-disciplinary team on care plan and treatment, assisting in admissions, supporting or assisting clients in programming
  • Participates in therapeutic meals and snacks and provides support during structured outings and recreation
  • Available to engage, challenge, and support residents as needed. Reports observations and documents in charts
  • Monitors and supports bathroom use per client treatment direction. Monitors and documents exercise.
  • Responsible for enforcing appropriate policies with residents and completing all expected tasks including hourly room-checks
Qualifications
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree required or one year of relevant experience
  • Must have valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive.
  • Previous direct mental health experience preferred
