Sunrise Services, Inc. is seeking caregivers for our Adult Family Home Starts at $19/hour, or negotiable depending on experience and certification

About the Adult Family Home:

Our adult family home supports up to 6 clients at a time while they live their day to day lives in the home. The primary job of Direct Care Staff is to support the clients in their daily activities. Clients are mostly independent, and the largest focus of this role will be on cooking, cleaning, and giving medications.

About the Role:

We are looking for Caregivers (HCA or CNA Caregiver) who have worked successfully with clients with challenging behaviors and who can assist them with daily living activities such as personal grooming, shopping, housekeeping and recreational outings.

Candidates need to be caring, patient, and reliable and must possess good communication skills and have knowledge of de-escalation techniques.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Direct Care Staff, under the supervision and direction of the RM, provides whatever support and assistance is needed by AFH residents in their daily lives and documents services given. Such support and assistance is provided in a way that helps empower the resident.

Support and assistance is provided in areas including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Encourage practices and activities that contribute to good health
  • Cue, encourage and coach participants to be aware of and practice basic nutrition.
  • Cue, coach and assist as needed with menu planning, grocery shopping and meal preparation that reflects healthy choices, while respecting the resident's rights.
  • Coach participants as needed to recognize the need for and appropriate use of health services.
  • Report injuries, illnesses, medical and / or mental health symptoms
  • Provide support as needed/directed during illness/recovery
  • Provide first aid as needed.
  • Encourage medication compliance; provide medication assistance as needed.
  • Carry out Nurse Delegation tasks as authorized and directed.
  • Coach and/or assist residents with personal care and household maintenance as needed. This may include cueing and/or assisting with bathing, toileting, laundry, housekeeping, etc.
  • Shopping for items such as clothing, personal possessions and home decor which reflect personal preference and taste as well as being within their budget.
  • Fostering the opportunity to express opinions and make decisions.
  • Fostering the person's communication skills and ability to effectively express themselves.
  • Provide information about and the opportunity to exercise rights and responsibilities.
  • Provide information about protection and advocacy services, both within the agency and in the community as needed.
  • Foster positive self-esteem and a sense of self worth.
  • Foster opportunities to choose valued social roles.
  • Shop, bank, eat, work, worship and make friends within the community.
  • Use available public transportation.
  • Meet with others and participate in activities with other members of the community.
  • Assist, as requested by the supervisor, in involving the participant's family/guardian in planning and decisions that affect the participant.
  • Help resolve conflicts between participants and their friends, family, neighbors and co-workers.
  • Menu planning, grocery shopping and cooking/meal preparation

  • Medications and health maintenance
  • Keeping track of daily and weekly schedules
  • Planning leisure time activities

  • Maintaining applicable records
  • Support the participant in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the PBSP and/or Crisis plan.
  • Give timely prompt feedback to the RM on issues related to these plans.
  • In some cases may drive participants via agency owned or personal vehicle to/from medical/therapy appointments, grocery shopping or community activities.
  • Transport paperwork (Incident Reports, receipts, etc) to/from the office as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:

Requires ability to pass a criminal background check, good writing skills, attention to detail, and reliable transportation.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

First aid, CPR, BBP and food handlers required within 30 days of hire

HCA or NAC and various other educational classes may be required at different intervals of employment

Shift:

- Monday -Thursday 7a-3p (Part-Time)
- Saturday and Sunday 3p-11pm (Part-Time)

CNA or HCA certifications, and driver's license, preferred.

This position is located in Everett, WA.

Compensation:
  • $19 - $20.00/hour
  • Wages are determined by applicable industry experience, education, and certifications.
