JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Science Intern will work closely with industry professionals assisting with database querying as well as data cleansing, preprocessing, enrichment, and visualization. This will include using internal business logic, statistical analysis, and machine learning. The right candidate should have a strong background in mathematics, statistics, financial modeling, and visualization tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the fundamental knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the job successfully:
  • Assist with all domestic and international entities’ day-to-day, month and year-end analysis and financial reporting plus supporting information system needs.
  • Prepare upcoming annual financial budget templates.
  • Assist in reviewing monthly budget vs actual’s financial data for budget and group owners.
  • Provide data insight to various departments within the business that are relevant to their respective roles.
  • Use tools & languages such as SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, PowerBI, and Excel to perform these tasks.
  • Show the ability to glean key information from datasets and present this information to stakeholders.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:
  • Working knowledge of applicable general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficient with general office systems including but not limited to; Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, SharePoint, SQL, Python, PowerBI, and the ability to adapt to a variety of other software databases.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Current undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5
  • 1 years of General Accounting experience preferred
  • Preferred to be in senior year or postgraduate
