Role


The Performance & Data Manager sits within the Maintenance Operations team and is and is responsible for overseeing the data and performance aspects, leading a team of Data Analysts and Performance Advisors as part of the Victorian Road Maintenance Contracts across regional and metropolitan Victoria. The Performance & Data Manager drives effective relationships within the Maintenance Operations team and data teams within the Department of Transport & Planning.

Position Accountabilities 

Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all asset data captured is accurate and aids in the effective and efficient delivery of infrastructure. Effective partnerships to be developed with key business groups across Department of Transport & Planning. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous process improvement. Demonstrated effective leadership, people management and support to their team. Staff are engaged with high levels of cohesion and commitment and are delivering on the services required.  Developed and implemented appropriate risk plans and actions to mitigate risk (safety, environmental, scope, financial, time and reputational) in accordance with DoT Risk Framework  Capabilities of the team managed and cultivated to deliver effective data capture, reporting and analysis for VRMC by contract and state wide. Promote and support safe, inclusive and flexible team operations.

To be successful in this role you will be skilled in critical thinking and problem-solving, considering the wider business context and integrating solutions into work processes to prevent recurring issues and deliver tangible business outcomes. You will excel in influence and persuasion by developing and implementing complex strategies to build buy-in from key stakeholders, effectively negotiating to achieve desired results. Your expertise in systems thinking will enable you to diagnose trends and obstacles, coach others in solving problems, and conceptualise organisational systems to inform policy. Additionally, you will provide thought leadership on capability development, understand external factors like demographic trends and skills shortages, appropriately delegate responsibilities, and foster talent across the organisation. Your accomplished stakeholder management skills will allow you to add value, link people with relevant areas, monitor satisfaction, and constructively address stakeholder issues.

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory

Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science (or similar)
