Description

The WVU Cancer Institute is seeking a highly organized and proactive temporary (hybrid) Clinical and Research Executive Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the development of organizational structures, manage physician contracts, and streamline associated recruitment processes. Primary duties of this position include maintaining performance dashboards, conducting financial audits, and facilitating project planning for NCI designation. Strong communication skills and experience in process improvement are essential. Join us to play a pivotal role in enhancing our clinical and research operations.

What You'll Do

  • Organizational Development
    • Support the development of organizational structures and charts.
    • Identify appropriate job titles and develop comprehensive job descriptions.
  • Process Development
    • Oversee the physician contract process, ensuring all agreements are accurate and up to date.
    • Develop and maintain tracking tools and structures for various processes.
    • Manage record-keeping systems to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
    • Design and implement incentive structures, including mission-critical criteria.
    • Define and streamline the physician recruitment process, including advertisement placement and content creation.
    • Facilitate effective physician communications.
  • Performance Management
    • Develop and maintain performance dashboards to track clinical and mission-critical productivity.
  • Financial Management
    • Conduct audits of the current provider compensation process.
    • Refine financial processes, tools, and record-keeping systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Project Planning and Development
    • Facilitate the planning process for National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation.
    • Support the development of project planning and organizational structures.
  • Institutional Collaboration
    • Facilitate the reinvention of the relationship between West Virginia University (WVU) and WVU Medicine functions under the WVU Cancer Institute.

Length of Assignment: Approximately 8.5 months

Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, administration, or a related field
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience involving:
    • Relevant administrative experience; however any combination of education and experience that provides the candidate with the necessary skill may also be considered, preferably in a research or clinical administration setting.

  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven experience in organizational development and process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of physician contract management and recruitment processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining performance dashboards.
  • Experience in financial management and process auditing.
  • Ability to facilitate project planning and development.
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with institutional partners.
