The Performance Improvement Nurse Designs, implements, and monitors patient safety programs that support the organizational goal to reduce patient harm. The Performance Improvement Nurse performs root cause analyses and proactive risk reduction measures when indicated and monitors corrective action plans. The Performance Improvement Nurse establishes strong working relationships with interdisciplinary members of the health care team including the medical staff, nursing and other operational areas, administration, and support services. The position encompasses project management, consultation, facilitation, data abstraction, data analysis, and interpretation. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. Other information: Required Job Qualifications: • State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure • Master’s degree in nursing, health system management or equivalent required • At least five nears of direct patient care in a hospital • At least two years of quality improvement experience • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to perform tasks independently and prioritize workload • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Preferred Job Qualifications: • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) Disclaimer: The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
