Responsibilities

The role of Mammography Technologist must demonstrate thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. They must be able to communicate to patients the nature of the exam and relieve their anxiety. They must demonstrate an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. They must demonstrate the ability to supervise students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.

Qualifications

Required:

  • One of the following:
    • RO (State Radiography License) AND ARRT-R AND must obtain ARRT-M within 1 year of hire
    • ROT (Temp State Radiography License) AND must obtain ARRT-R prior to ROT expiration AND must obtain ARRT-M within 1 year of hire.

Desired:

  • One year mammography
