POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for providing peer support and assistance to recovering individuals to assist them in meeting their recovery goals

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent or at least 21 years of age. Ability to work with persons in a manner that shows respect for cultural differences.

SKILL SETS: Possesses organizational, oral, and written communication skills. Must demonstrate a high level of familiarity with Microsoft Office.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIORMENTAL DEMANDS: Visual acuity necessary for updating files and completing documents. Requires frequent stooping, kneeling and crouching to file records. Hearing and talking necessary to answer phone and talk with employees and other individuals. Work is light with walking, standing, and sitting. Manual dexterity is required to perform word processing and other clerical duties.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
  1. Working knowledge of training approaches and treatment methods
  2. Knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of health, mental health and substance use disorders among pregnant and postpartum women
  3. Knowledge of the impact of culture on the manifestations of health, mental health and substance abuse
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Adheres to Communicare, Inc. policies and procedures.
  2. Attends mandatory in- services and other training/educational programs as required.
