Blue Ridge Power (BRP) is seeking an Electrical Superintendent who will positively represent BRP and work on-site daily with all construction teams This role will work closely with the electrical self-perform teams and subcontractors. The Electrical Superintendent will oversee the coordination, ensure QA and AHJ inspections are scheduled and conducted, record observations, and follow through to ensure corrections are made and observations are closed outIn addition, the Electrical Superintendent will ensure safety protocols are followed. This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position.

This position is 100% travel and offers per diem while working on our project sites. Site states include but are not limited to Michigan, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Maryland, and South Carolina.

What You'll Do:

  • Coach, mentor, and train field personnel while maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Monitor safety, quality, and efficiency of self-perform and subcontracted work.
  • Ensure assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance follow specifications and are within schedules and budget.
  • Examine drawings and specifications for various work tasks and ensure current information is passed to front-line supervisors.
  • Coordinates work activities and installations with other craft supervisors to ensure productivity and eliminate conflicts in the field.
  • Review and modify self-preform and subcontractor look-ahead schedules to ensure they align with milestone objectives and the baseline schedule.
  • Track electrical project progress by units and SOW.
  • Generate schedule and cost reports.
  • Submit electrical RFIs when required, communicating potential impacts up and downstream.
  • Manage accurate red-line drawings for project as-builts and closeouts.
  • Work closely with the CX teams to facilitate a smooth transition of custody & control.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections of craft work to maintain adherence to specifications and mitigate rework.
  • Monitor timely delivery of necessary materials, schedules, and necessary equipment to ensure continued productivity.
  • Review/monitor subcontractor procurement of electrical resources, methods, staffing, and coordination with other site activities.
  • Investigate and resolve contract disputes by making recommendations to upper management for final action.
Must-Haves:
  • 3-5+ years of electrical experience in the construction industry.
  • Must have building and construction knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in electrical work.
  • Experience working on a 100MW project or larger in the utility-scale solar/ renewable energy industry.
  • Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Advanced knowledge of technology and installation methods.
  • Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
  • Understands cloud-based technology and how to utilize it.
  • Thorough understanding of all scopes of PV installation work.
  • Ability to multitask/ and demonstrate time management skills.
  • Ability to complete and finish assigned tasks.
  • Ability to read and comprehend project drawings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to forecast the next steps in a process and implement a full project look ahead.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to organize and manage file systems for all involved.
  • Recognizing scope changes and principles of estimating.
  • Ability to identify and embrace coaching and training opportunities for direct reports.

Education and Certifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Must possess and maintain a current driver's license required.

Working Environment and Physical Demand:
  • 100% travel to assigned project(s) - this role requires flexibility in traveling to multiple states.
  • The position requires travel to our project site(s).
  • Must possess reliable transportation.
  • Able to travel for extended periods to various locations.
  • Ability to travel out-of-state for extended periods.
  • Must follow organization policies and procedures.
  • Individuals in this position work in an outdoor environment and must be able to tolerate all climates.
  • May require lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk short to long distances for 8-10 hours daily.
