Our Position

The Behavioral Health Technician II (BHT II) acts as an advocate for the needs and rights of individuals served by providing empathic, active listening skills, case management and support services in order to maximize the opportunity to create recovery partnerships and a recovery environment. The BHT II also performs comprehensive psychosocial assessments and treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed professional.

Your Responsibilities
  • Connects with new participants, on site or while the participant is incarcerated or hospitalized, to obtain referral information and necessary solutions.
  • Completes comprehensive psychosocial assessments and collaborates in the creation of individualized treatment plans with participants and treatment team members under the supervision of a licensed professional.
  • Provides individual and group counseling under the supervision of a licensed professional.
  • Teaches recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
  • Cultivates connectedness in the person's life (self, others, the environment, and to meaning and purpose).
  • Assesses emergency situations, notifies supervisor of actual or potential challenges, exercises judgment in stressful conditions and responds calmly and quickly.
  • Completes clinical documentation as required.
  • Develops and maintains community resources for education, information and referrals appropriate to participant's needs.
  • Understands and adheres to RI International compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    • High School Diploma or equivalent and a combination of education in a behavioral health field and full-time behavioral health experience totaling at least two (2) years; or
    • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four (4) years of full-time behavioral health experience.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.
