National Metalwarespowered by UPG is a growing steel service that has been in business for almost 60 years. National Metalwares is looking to hire a Data Entry Specialist to join our dynamic team Successful candidates will have ideally worked in the steel industry (but not required) and have a solid level of experience with the types of specialized products and services produced by steel service centers. We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate that is eager to learn and grow in this fast-paced environment. We strive to build strong relationships with our customers by providing high level of service, value-add opportunities, and professionalism in all interactions, allowing us to become a valued member of their supply chain and production teams.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Data entry of inventory transactions, receiving stock to warehouse locations, warehouse scrap, inventory location transfers
  • Compiles and records production data from such documents as customer orders, work tickets, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets.
  • Communicate with various departments regarding missing information or pick tickets.
  • Work with Production Scheduler to schedule manufacturing orders.
  • Work with production department to improve variances and efficiencies.
  • Supplemental keying for various supervisors.
  • Send inventory and consignment status reports to appropriate individual(s)
  • Process releases/closing of “MO" orders for billing on shipping
  • Maintain spreadsheet for inventory transactions and enter new department codes for manufacturing parts
  • Investigate and correct negative inventory counts
Position Requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) with the ability to learn new software programs as needed
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with good attention to detail while maintaining a calm demeanor under stressful conditions
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while maintaining a strong work ethic.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background check, and drug test
