The Orthodontic Insurance Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of insurance processing in an orthodontic office. This includes verifying patient insurance coverage, submitting claims, following up on unpaid claims, and communicating with patients and insurance companies to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of orthodontic insurance policies and procedures. Your professionalism, exceptional customer service skills, and attention to detail will be vital in upholding our reputation for high-end orthodontic care.
Key Responsibilities:
Insurance Verification:
- Verify patient insurance coverage before appointments one week in advance.
- Communicate with patients about their insurance benefits and financial responsibilities as needed.
- Daily prepare and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.
- Track and follow up on unpaid or denied claims, resubmitting when necessary.
- Post insurance payment, reconcile with patient accounts and adjust contracts accordingly.
- Educate patients on their insurance coverage, including explaining their benefits and out-of-pocket costs.
- Assist patients with any insurance-related questions or issues.
- Maintain up-to-date records of patient insurance information by coordinating with the Pediatric Insurance Team.
- Work closely with the front desk and billing departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- Partner with the Financial and Treatment Coordinators to deliver seamless, comprehensive support, enhancing the overall patient experience.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling, overflow phone calls, and general office duties.
