POSITION SUMMARY: Secures materials for branch inventory or for specific customer requirements to maintain ideal inventory turn levels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Selects from pre-approved vendor group; completes purchase orders and submits orders to corporate Purchasing or directly to the vendor.

2. Receives inventory; completes receiving reports, matches to purchase order, reports shipping discrepancies to vendor or to shipper.

3. Monitor inventory and reorders as necessary.

4. Locates sources for non-standard inventory.

5. Assists sales representatives with price quotes; Advises sales representatives of price changes and price corrections.

6. Assists branch manager with semi-annual inventory.

7. Performs similar work-related duties as assigned.

8. Advises operations staff and sales staff of item number changes and quantity changes.

SKILL, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to read, write and speak English well. Basic math skills (i.e. units of measure).

2. Two years of branch inside sales or receiving experience, or two years general purchasing experience.

3. Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.

4. Ability to use office equipment .

5. Knowledge and experience in inventory control.

6. Knowledge and understanding of landed cost rules.
