As a CNS in Critical Care, you will serve as an expert in evidence-based practice, provide advanced clinical support to the critical care team, and help improve patient outcomes through education, research, and leadership in clinical practice.

  • Serve as a clinical expert in critical care nursing, offering consultation and guidance to nurses and other healthcare staff.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans for critically ill patients.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety, care quality, and outcomes in the critical care unit.
  • Facilitate staff development and ongoing education on best practices, new protocols, and advances in critical care nursing.
  • Conduct clinical research and apply evidence-based practices to improve patient care.
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols, guidelines, and policies to ensure consistency and effectiveness in care delivery.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for nursing staff, fostering professional growth and excellence in critical care practice.
  • Monitor patient care outcomes and implement strategies to improve patient safety and care quality.
Candidate requirements Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Washington. Master's degree in Nursing with a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) certification. Minimum of 3-5 years of critical care nursing experience, with demonstrated leadership or advanced practice roles. In-depth knowledge of critical care nursing standards, protocols, and advanced patient care techniques. Strong skills in mentorship, clinical education, and staff development. Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities. BLS, ACLS, and other relevant certifications required.
