Job Description

The Expediter is responsible for fulfilling customer orders by working with the restaurant staff to ensure each customer receives the correct items and condiments.

Compensation:

$18.90/hour (non-exempt). This is a Part-time position.

Reporting Relationship:

Reports to: Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Assistant Manager

Supervises: n/a

Responsibilities

Essential Duties
  • Assists with fulfilling customer orders by working with the restaurant staff to ensure each customer receives the correct items and condiments.
  • Responsible reading order tickets and retrieving order items and condiments
  • Checks ticket to items retrieved for accuracy
  • Assists with proper set up of the room, including tables and kitchen work area. Sets up assigned station (i.e. flatware, glasses, linen, candles, table décor, table tents, etc.). Wipes down tables and chairs.
  • Responsible for being thoroughly familiar with the entire menu, daily specials, and wine.
  • Assists with receiving food and beverage orders and rings them up under the POS number according to established procedures.
  • Remains accountable for all checks, and for handling all checks according to established procedures.
  • Assists other servers whenever possible.
  • Ensures that all assigned side work is completed.
  • Responsible for continuous cleaning of station throughout shift; resets tables as needed.
  • Completes all opening and closing procedures.
  • Removes dirty dishware from tables and breaks down china, glassware, and silverware at dish washing station
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualification/Requirements:
  • Previous experience in food service and/or dining room operations, preferred.
  • Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Requires working to the established procedures and maintaining reliable work attendance.
  • Requires good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Able to think and make effective decisions quickly.
  • Ability to create effective working relationships with employees.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work under pressure.
Required Work Cards/Certifications:
  • Current TB Clearance
  • Current Maui County Liquor License
Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision.
  • The employee is required to operate objects, tools, or controls.
