The primary role will be as the intersection of cross functional teams, combining mechanical design with electronics, wiring, testing, and industry compliance into creative and cost-effective new products. Design and implementation through CAD design, team reviews and discussion, prototyping, testing and validation, and production implementation using various processes including plastic and rubber injection molding, sheet metal, metal casting, and other processes. Generate, initiate, and complete new product, product improvement and cost reduction ideas based on Market needs. Working closely with cross functional teams incorporating electronics and wiring management into design. Validating designs through theorems, tolerance stacks, and software such as FEA, as well as practical testing based on industry standards, by working closely with test engineers and understanding regulatory standards. Creating technical documentation utilizing best practices, and implementing Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing so that designs can be easily interpreted by external suppliers, and working closely with vendors to guide design into production. What we are looking for Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. 2-5 years of relevant work experience within the mechanicel engineering sector. Must have hands-on experience working with both SolidWorks & CAD. Understanding of mechanical systems with an understanding of fits, clearances, and tolerances. Ability to clearly communicate through a variety of media including hand sketches, modeling, technical drawing, project summaries using written and spoken word. Ability to identify the source of a problem and quickly create and test solutions. Ability to manage time and work closely with cross functional teams and management on large scale projects.
