We are actively hiring for a Paralegal to join our client's growing firm in Elk Grove. Our client is a reputable law firm specializing in Wills, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, and Trusts Administration. With a commitment to providing exceptional legal services, they assist clients in planning and managing their estates to ensure their wishes are carried out effectively and efficiently.

The salary is ranging between $55-75k (negotiable) plus bonuses. This is a full-time, permanent position offering full benefits, PTO, and other perks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assisting attorneys with the preparation and management of estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, power of attorney, conservatorships, and advance health care directives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with the drafting, preparation, and review of various estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, advance health care directives, and powers of attorney.
  • Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law related to estate planning and administration.
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and documentation for the preparation of estate planning documents.
  • Coordinate the execution of estate planning documents, including notarization and witnessing requirements.
  • Organize and maintain client files and databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of all information.
  • Assist attorneys with the administration of trusts, including asset transfers, distributions, and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Prepare and file probate documents, as needed, and assist with probate administration.
  • Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and corresponding with clients and third parties.
  • Stay updated on changes in estate planning laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide informed assistance to attorneys and clients.
  • Collaborate with other members of the legal team to provide exceptional service and support to clients.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a paralegal in a law firm
  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of estate planning principles, procedures, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in legal research, document drafting, and case management software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Paralegal certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred.
