Position Title: Engineering/GIS Technician

Description:

The contractor will provide GIS data support in the following areas:

Data Entry - This will involve the entry of attribute data from engineering plan sets and related digitization of plan sets into GIS as required.

Quality Control - Quality control of the existing GIS datasets and databases, utilizing the City's current review and database standards.

Training - This will involve training client staff on current workflows and procedures.

Experience and preferred qualifications:

1-2 years of experience working on data entry.

Proficiency with GIS software such as ArcGIS

Proficiency with reading and understanding engineering plan sets mainly related to client utilities.

Basic understanding of spatial data formats (e.g., shapefiles, geoJSON, KML)

Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., SQL)
