An established full-service municipal engineering firm is seeking an experienced Civil Design Technician for our office located in NE Tarrant County. This position will provide AutoCAD design and drafting support for various municipal civil engineering projects from the conceptual phase through development construction documents. We are looking for a self-starting, detailed oriented person with the ability to manage multiple projects, at varying stages of project development.

Responsibilities for this position would include the following:
1. Analyze surveys, deeds and boundary information, field notes, maps, aerial photographs, and other materials to identify potential project constraints, assist in the development of a best approach strategy, and set up new projects from concept level through the development of construction plans;
2. Develop complete sets of construction drawings (plan/profiles/cross sections/details) and supporting calculations/quantities for various public works projects including:
a. Drainage (hydrology/hydraulic modeling, culvert capacity analysis/design, collection system design)
b. Transportation networks (roadway/intersection design, roadway reconstructions)
c. Water facilities (pump stations, storage tanks, distribution/transmission lines)
d. Sanitary sewer facilities (lift stations, WWTP, collection systems)
3. Ability to create and maintain maps and GIS systems for municipalities;
4. Complete redlines and plan revisions;
5. Familiarity and the ability to research and review applicable records and ordinances (subdivision/zoning), technical reports, municipal, state (TCEQ/TWDB/TxDOT) and federal (EPA/FRA/FEMA) requirements to ensure design compliance;
6. Collaborate with project managers and design engineers to provide status updates, discuss challenges, and address plan revisions;
7. High AutoCAD (Civil 3-D preferred) proficiency;
8. Familiarity with Microsoft Office components.
