The Opportunity

We are seeking an empathetic Associate Attorney to be accountable to provide the best possible customer service while effectively managing client expectations. This is an ideal position for a genuine and hospitable individual with the skills to effectively communicate with individuals of all cultures and backgrounds. This role requires strong interpersonal skills where professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity are showcased. Success in this role will also require strong intuition and independent judgement. As an Associate Attorney, you must be able to provide legal advice while ensuring potential clients feel heard, understood, and supported. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and detail-oriented to handle client needs and intake details efficiently.

  1. Accountable to provide support to the intake/investigator team regarding case sign up qualification and general legal advice
    1. Conduct thorough consultations as necessary to determine the eligibility of cases for representation
    2. Provide clear and concise advice to intake specialists during the intake process when qualifying leads
    3. Review and assess the details of potential cases to help determine their viability and alignment with the firm's practice areas or referral partners
    4. Ensure that clients feel heard, understood, and supported during their initial interaction with the firm
    5. Assist the Intake Manager with:
      1. Ensuring all leads from various lead sources have properly been entered into Litify as "Intakes"
      2. Fielding and reviewing incoming leads and assist in appropriate case designation of sign-up, refer out, or disengage
      3. Reviewing all intake status categories to make sure leads are converted to sign-ups and cases we decided to reject are notified quickly:
  2. Accountable to provide legal advice to potential clients while providing a compassionate and supportive environment
    1. Serve as the primary attorney for potential clients seeking legal advice
    2. Offer general legal guidance to clients and potential clients on various matters related to their cases
    3. Cultivate a welcoming and professional atmosphere to ensure clients feel confident that our firm is the optimal choice for their legal needs
    4. Ensure that clients feel heard, understood, and supported during their initial interaction with the firm
    5. Address any legal questions or concerns that arise during the intake process
    6. Accurately document all client interactions and case evaluations in the firm's case management system
    7. Prepare detailed summaries of potential cases for review by attorneys and partner as necessary
  3. Accountable to provide best possible settlement/verdict for client
    1. Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to ensure a seamless transition of cases from intake to full representation
    2. Participate in regular team meetings to discuss case intake trends, challenges, and improvements


Skills Needed to Win:
  • Knowledge of your Craft: must have strong working knowledge of Louisiana law and willingness to learn our systems and processes
  • Display Leadership Qualities: must have a leadership mindset when it comes to working with support staff and fellow attorneys to develop rapport and build successful working relationships
  • Communicate: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Be Empathetic: able to deal empathetically with clients who are injured and scared, while still maintaining professionalism. Must be able to work as a team.
  • Present Solutions: able to problem solve, follow instructions, be creative, use discretion, ask questions when necessary and be detail oriented
  • Be Honorable: able to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality and display good judgement
  • Strategize: able to organize and prioritize effectively and efficiently
Preferred Education & Experience:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Louisiana state bar and in good standing
  • Proven experience in a legal setting, preferably in a role involving client interaction and case evaluation
  • Strong understanding of the legal principles related to personal injury or other relevant practice areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment
  • Occasional travel for client meetings
