Job Description
MGS has an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our MGS Germantown Manufacturing team.

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer at MGS, you will support MGS' CI projects to improve the implementation and production the highest quality products and services, evaluate and eliminate the variation in processes and systems interactions, and to represent MGS: Integrated Solutions' efforts to improve the operation of the business.

Below are additional duties and responsibilities:
  • Evaluate process variation found in current operation
  • Create/Maintain continuous improvement processes, tools, and systems used by MGS operation and teams.
  • Know and understand the guiding principles of DMAIC and PDCA and its application in daily functions.
  • Identify areas of waste, duplication, and frequent errors.
  • Develop and support plans to implement changes, including identifying resources and leading project teams.
  • Monitor process improvement results and provide appropriate feedback on system and tool implementation.
  • Make continuous improvements and adjustments to maintain efficient operation of MGS teams and projects.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills
A qualified Continuous Improvement Engineer candidate would fulfill these requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, Six Sigma Black Belt Certification is preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification is preferred.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment and technical experience in tooling, engineering, operations, and/or project management in a plastic injection molding environment is preferred.
  • Team building, decision making, and people management skills are preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, project management and communication skills are needed to be successful in this role.
  • Basic Knowledge of FDA and ISO/QS/TS Quality Systems is preferred.
  • Previous experience/understanding of management principles (budgeting/expense management, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources) is preferred.
  • Expertise within the plastics industry in terms of standards, processes, procedures, and equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to create accountability and lead by example.
