WAGO Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management systems, process improvement methodologies, and a commitment to ensuring product excellence. The Quality Engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing product quality standards, implementing quality control processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited educational institution
  • Minimum of five years' experience in quality engineering or related role in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.) and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, FAA, etc.).
  • Experience with quality tools and methodologies, such as statistical process control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), root cause analysis, etc.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a customer-oriented mindset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification a plus
  • Prior SAP experience preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer requirements
  • Conduct quality audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for process optimization
  • Drive and implement internal Quality process improvements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive process improvements
  • Provide technical expertise and support to manufacturing, engineering, and other departments to ensure product quality and reliability
  • Participate in new product development projects, including design reviews, risk assessments, and validation activities to ensure quality requirements are met
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to quality processes, procedures, and specifications.
  • Lead data collection, analysis, and improvement projects throughout production
  • Lead and/or support continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Six Sigma projects, to enhance quality, reduce waste, and increase efficiency
  • Ensure WAGO Quality Systems are compliant with ISO 9001 and support new product development activities such as Quality Plans, PFMEA, Control Plans, Procedure and Process development
  • Work with sales, production management, and manufacturing engineering to help resolve customer CAR's, RMA's, etc.
  • Develop and/or reviews product, process test equipment and/or software validation and qualification protocols and tracks execution of protocols in support of project timelines
