The Role
  • Leads projects priorities, deadlines, and outcomes.
  • Applies deep knowledge of site reliability, software engineering, programming languages, tooling, frameworks, infrastructure and systems for each task.
  • Leads designs of software components, systems, and features to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of LSEG's services.
  • Leads sustainable incident response and production improvements for LSEG.
  • Provides mentorship and advice to other team members on leading availability and performance of critical services, building automation to prevent problem recurrence, and building automated responses for non-exceptional service conditions.
  • Mentors and trains other team members on design techniques and coding standards and cultivate innovation and collaboration.
  • Writes and reviews highly optimized and accurate code for LSEG products and solutions and provides feedback and suggested improvements to team members.
  • Partners with architects to decompose a solution for technology systems and products
  • Is regarded as the point of contact in their domain by showing significant depth of knowledge and expertise in technology and develops knowledge other domains to act on linkages and dependencies.
  • Proactively continues to build and apply relevant domain knowledge that may relate to workflows, data pipelines, business policies, configurations and constraints
Requirements:
  • Preference given to applicants with SOC2 / PCI experience
  • Public cloud hosting (Azure, specifically) experience with services - specifically AKS / K8 management
  • Infrastructure as Code experience (CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible).
  • Understanding of Linux containers and related workload scheduling technologies (AKS, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with systems operational metrics, logging and alerting tools (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus).
  • Understanding of Networking concepts like TCP/IP, Routing, Load Balancing and DNS.
  • Intermediate level programming/scripting experience (Python, Bash/shell preferred).
  • Demonstrated expertise in OS security fundamentals for publicly accessible Linux servers.
  • Experience with at least one source control system and comfort managing development across multiple
  • lines,
  • Working knowledge of database concepts, database structures, relational databases and related
  • applications
  • Proven programming / scripting language skills, preferably in Python & Java
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Significant experience in software development in one or more programming languages
  • 5+ years of direct experience in large team environments
