Job title: UNIX Application/System Analyst
Location: Hackensack, NJ (Position will be Hybrid)
Duration: 12 + Months - Long Term

Responsibilities:
• Daily support of a large UNIX -based application, including administration, troubleshooting and maintenance of all aspects of the system
• Working with Development team and vendor on implementing changes, fixes and updates to the applications
• Managing patching process, coordinating patching activities with sysadmins, users and developers
• Leading annual upgrade efforts
• Analyzing system performance and stability, making recommendations and implementing solutions based on recommendations

Skills:
1. Linux (RHEL or equivalent) - Intermediate/Advanced Knowing at a minimum:
• How to navigate using a terminal (ssh/putty)
• Able to read batch/shell scripts
• Knows what kernel and process signals are.
• Understands memory and shared memory and tools to view/manage.
• Able to navigate and search log files
2. Shell/Python scripting - Intermediate to advanced (Goal being to start adding better alerts to process and memory events that splunk is not able to detect)
3. Splunk Knowledge - Beginner+ (goal is to start making alerts for our desync events and logs from Geneva).
