This position will be responsible for design and engineering of electrical distribution systems. It will also focus on engagement and collaboration with customers for their electrical compression and power needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand power grid, electric motors and variable frequency drive;

  • Develop and implement electrical infrastructure and grid studies;

  • Provide technical guidance and support to various personnel;

  • Develop and maintain internal specifications, standards and procedures;

  • Develop site electrical procedures;

  • Ensure applications meet regulation standards;

  • Understand and estimate costs related to renewable energy;

  • Develop project timelines and programming reports;

  • Define testing criteria;

  • Implement new engineering methods;

  • Develop and lead multi-level training;

  • Interface with vendors, utility companies, consultants, and external contractors to oversee installation and equipment maintenance;

  • Ensure the integration of safety, reliability, operability, constructability, and configuration management practices into final products/designs/processes;

  • Provide technical engineering expertise to respond to regulatory bodies;

  • Participate in industry technical knowledge sharing and best practices sharing meetings with peers;

  • Assist with the required change management and roll out of new program development;

  • Review and perform quality assurance for design deliverables (internal and external design);

  • Develop detailed scoping and engineering plans for projects;

  • Asist with troubleshooting for issues in the field.

Education, Experience and Training

  • 10+ years of electrical grid / distributed power / natural gas compression / facilities design experience;

  • Effective communicator across all levels of management;

  • Experienced management skills;

  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail;

  • Knowledge of construction procedures and equipment; voltage and motor controls;

  • Knowledge of industry standards and specifications for power distribution systems and components

  • 4-year degree in electrical engineering required.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions

  • Must be available and able to work at any time / be on call

  • Must be able to bend, climb, and walk on all types of surfaces

  • May be required to sit for long periods of time

  • Ability to travel to/from site locations

  • Must be able to work under pressure and occasional long or irregular hours
