Job Summary

As a school speech-language pathology assistant (SLPA), you will work under the direction of a speech-language pathologist to offer speech services to students who require intervention. You will be responsible for supporting an SLP in providing prescribed therapies according to the parameters set forth in students' individual education plans (IEP). You may also be asked to assist with speech evaluations, document student interventions, and progress, and relay your observations to a supervising SLP.

Your students will vary in age from grades K-12, to be determined by the school district. Depending on the individual needs of each student, you will work to help them overcome speech limitations in order to be successful in the classroom and develop essential communication skills. Prescribed therapies may include exercises to improve the development of oral motor skills, speech fluency, articulation, cognition, listening comprehension, and oral reading skills.

We are looking for a versatile SLPA who is willing to collaborate with a diverse group of students, educators, therapists, and administrators. Our ideal applicant is compassionate, steady under pressure, and capable of meeting the needs of students who require specialized speech therapy intervention.
