Job Summary Night Shift Brewing is looking for an energetic, positive, hospitality oriented individual to join us as a Host at the Lovejoy Wharf Taproom. This is a great opportunity for a friendly, guest focused individual to join our team. We look for individuals with an interest and passion for beer, guest service and enlightened communication. Duties & Responsibilities Make guests feel appreciated and welcome through your actions. The Host Team will greet guests in an upbeat, welcoming manner. Using a genuine greeting. Review daily tasks checklist to have the host stand and surrounding area clean and ready for service. Point person is the overall pace-setter. The Point will instruct the Seater where to seat the party and communicate any wait times and table status with guests. The Seater will be prepared with menus for all people in the party. Seater will walk at the guest’s pace while conversing in a natural, genuine conversation. Our guests are the focus of why we are here. That is why we follow the etiquette of Guest Right of Way (G.R.O.W.). In addition, we follow the 10/4 Rules. When you are 10 feet away from the guest, make eye contact and smile to acknowledge the guest. 4 feet away from guests, make eye contact, smile, say hello and allow G.R.O.W. The Host Team monitors the reservations list and plans accordingly. Large parties, typically 8 or more, will need to be communicated with the Coordinator/MOD. As the Host Team you’ll strive to answer phone calls within two rings. Assist with monitoring the take outs that are kept by the host stand. Help guests in the retail and merchandise space with any needs they may have. The Host Team should express gratitude when guests are departing Lovejoy Wharf. Constantly making rounds throughout the restaurant to retrieve menus from side stations. Ripped, worn menus are to be discarded. Inform point person or manager when low on menus that are acceptable for rotation with our guests. Embracing change and desire to grow with Night Shift Brewing. Transparency between team members and management Comply with all health, safety and hygiene standards and policies. When low time allows assist with service in the restaurant, like bussing and running of food. Perform all other duties needed and requested Keys to Thriving at Night Shift Lovejoy Wharf: Convey Genuine Positivity Seek Meaningful Connections with Guests & Co-workers Hustle & Love to be Busy Always Learning, Always Humble All Styles Welcome- Embrace Inclusivity Rack Up Assists Physical Requirements: The work for this position is performed in a kitchen / taproom environment and requires occasional trips to storage location. The production aspects of this job take place in a working restaurant / brewery environment, which involves the following: Hot, cold, steamy, foggy, wet conditions Noise (up to 90 dB) Exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals, hot water, cold water, hazardous gases, and pressurized vessels Exposure to machinery with moving parts Wet floors Occasional entry into confined spaces Sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing Seeing, talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling Must be able to stand / move for 8+ hours Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 or be able to provide documentation to secure a religious or medical exemption Powered by JazzHR
