Group Sales Manager

JOB SUMMARY
Reports to: President, General Manager
Wage Category: Non-Exempt (Salaried)
Schedule: Monday through Sunday. Schedule may vary and will include nights, weekends, and holidays based upon business needs. Position will require travel to other locations and businesses from time to time.
The Group Sales Manager drives sales for the Fun Center by developing and pursuing potential leads. This is accomplished through established marketing methods, cold calling, and inquiry follow-up. The Group Sales Manager is authorized to commit the Fun Center to various group event programs within established guidelines. Unique programs outside these guidelines are subject to the approval of the President and/or the Fun Center General Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Provide direct management and oversight of all group sales.
a. Corporate events, school fundraisers, birthday parties, church events, team parties, company picnics, holiday parties, etc.
2. Assist the President as requested.
3. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with Fun Center employees, supervision, and management.
4. Oversee execution of birthday parties and group events.
5. Assist in training and development of party hosts and hostesses.
6. Develop and follow yearly budgetary goals.
7. Assist in the development of programs and packages appropriate to groups of various sizes.
8. Meet and greet key group and civic leaders, etc., at events held at the Fun Center.
9. Ability to schedule and make productive cold calls on behalf of Fun Center.
10. Uses professional phone etiquette
11. Accurately handles cash, checks, coupons, etc.
12. Other duties as assigned by the President and/or the Fun Center General Manager
JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
1. Possesses a four-year college degree - preferably in marketing OR equivalent job experience.
2. Minimum of two years of sales experience in the hospitality or service industry.
3. Has a thorough knowledge of the Fun Center, its promotional programs, packages, and marketing objectives.
Language Skills
1. Can read, write, speak and understand the English language.
a. Ability to speak a second language a plus.
2. Possesses good communication skills.
Mathematical Skills
1. Basic math skills required.
a. Ability to accurately count cash, review guest billing statements, etc.
Reasoning Ability
1. Can handle multiple tasks with effective follow through.
a. Organized personality - able to maintain detailed records, reports, and logs.

6. Possess sufficient manual dexterity to count cash, use a keyboard and mouse.
