This position is located at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

This position is not eligible for telecommuting.

Essential Functions

  • Provide network device support and operations support to the customer
  • Support mission network infrastructure and resolve Routing, Switching, Firewall, Intrusion Detection, Load-Balancing, Serial to IP and Virtual environment incidents
  • Ensure the enterprise is compliant and free from vulnerabilities
  • Provide day-to-day support of the Mission Enterprise Network
  • Verify network equipment configurations
  • Assist in the resolution of network issues
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting on Routers and Switches
  • Assist in remediation of network vulnerabilities
  • Work as a team member on technical issues
  • Communicate with users when needed
  • Maintain complete technical documentation
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call schedule, responding to network outages and other events
  • Work with other departments to help them deploy new applications
  • Follow all Change Management procedures
  • Complete assigned training and assist with the training of others to ensure optimal availability of qualified personnel for daily operations, maintenance, and launch support
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems in a large complex environment

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two (2) or more years of overall information technology experience
  • Two (2) or more years of network administration experience
  • Competent Knowledge and Experience in:
    • OSI Layer 3 Routing and Layer 2 Switching
    • OSPF
    • 802.1Q VLans
    • MAC locking/filtering
    • QoS
    • Network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools
  • A basic understanding of network operating systems
  • Experience with SolarWinds, JUNOS, and Cisco IOS, preferred

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Security+ CE certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification within six months of start date
  • The flexibility to work frequent non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License
