Randstad Federal is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer in support of a federal program at Department of State

location: Arlington, Virginia

job type: Contract

salary: $80 - 90 per hour

work hours: 8am to 4pm

responsibilities:

Provides infrastructure support to a State Department customer located in Arlington, Virginia. Our team provides support for a campus-wide network, on-premise servers, on-premise storage, cloud compute and cloud storage. Our customer is in the process of migrating much of the infrastructure to the cloud with the largest utilization of Microsoft Azure. We are looking for a Cloud Engineer with the technical expertise to design, build, operate, maintain and support cloud infrastructure. The Cloud Engineer will be 3 days onsite and 2 days WFH in Arlington, VA with the ability to telework two day per week.

  • Design and implement secure IaaS and PaaS cloud environments for development and operations including compute, storage, and network

  • Operate and maintain the cloud environments balancing performance, availability and cost

  • Operate primarily within Microsoft Azure environment though there may be some support of AWS resources and occasionally on-prem infrastructure

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or five additional (5) years of experience

  • Required/Desired Knowledge/Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of two years professional experience in relevant field

  • Must have a minimum of one year experience working with Microsoft Azure

  • Desired Azure Fundamentals certification or better Azure Administrator Associate

  • Engineering experience with cloud compute, storage and network

  • Working knowledge of government cybersecurity requirements

  • Good communication skills to work with end-user customers and within a team

  • Required Clearance:

  • Active Secret
