Position Summary

The Quality Control Inspector I inspects production parts using the optical comparator and various hand tools.

This position reports to Quality Control Inspection Lead.

According to the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), this position is classified as:

  • Non-Exempt
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Retrieves CAD model(s), drawings, and specifications from databases
  • Inspects new parts for the First Articles and production parts using the optical comparator and various hand tools
  • Performs electrical tests on incoming parts as defined in the QSOP or RIP
  • Create Non-Conforming Material Reports on discrepant material
  • Other duties as assigned

Required
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications per Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T)
  • Ability to work under pressure for throughput while maintaining quality standards
  • Proficient with basic measurement tools such as calipers, pin gauges, micrometers, etc
  • General proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Training in Metrology (or equivalent) is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Ability to work well with other Inspectors, Quality Control personnel and Engineers
Preferred
  • Associates degree in Electronics or Engineering or related
One year of experience in a production facility
