Title: Technology Services Repair Technician

Purpose: The Technology Services Repair Technician plays an integral part of information technology services on the production floor. As a skilled and experienced Repair Technician you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware issues on various computer and mobile systems. This role requires excellent technical knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused mindset. Expect to work closely with the Technology Services Repair Lead on prioritization and issue resolutions. The Repair Technician will work to provide timely and efficient repairs ensuring that devices can be released for sale as quickly as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to prioritize repairs.
  • Perform diagnostic assessments to identify hardware and software problems on desktops, laptops, phones, and tablets.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, such as faulty components, system crashes, and hardware upgrades.
  • Replace and repair damaged or defective computer parts, including motherboards, hard drives, memory modules, and peripherals.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, service requests, and inventory of computer components.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest computer hardware, software, and security trends, acquiring new skills and knowledge as needed.
  • Experience/knowledge of operating systems, such as: macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Windows, ChromeOS, Android, and Linux.
  • An understanding of NIST and erasure techniques
  • Ensure that all repairs performed meet the company’s quality standards
  • Support production by ensuring all requests are handled in a timely manner
  • Work unsupervised while prioritizing and delivering timely, high quality work
  • Record work performed in an accurate manner
  • Maintain a positive work environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Maintain cleanliness of repair area and stations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a technology repair technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware components, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Familiarity with computer networks, including LAN and Wi-Fi configurations.
  • Ability to work independently to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical ability to lift and move technology equipment.
  • Ability to perform duties with accuracy
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of Apple products
  • Minimum 2-year technical experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Work well in a team environment and be a collaborative team player 
  • Demonstrated ability to perform well in a highly dynamic, rapidly changing environment
