About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Railcar Repair Technician to join our team at Marmon Holdings, Inc. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and safety in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of railcars.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough railcar inspections to ensure compliance with Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and Association of American Railroads (AAR) regulations.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as necessary, adhering to current safety and quality standards.
  • Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, including large work vehicles and forklifts.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, reporting any potential hazards to supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervision to ensure seamless operations.
  • Meet customer expectations by delivering high-quality services and ensuring accurate invoicing and work order information.
  • Participate in safety assessments and equipment inspections to identify areas for improvement.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and practices, and contribute to safety committees or initiatives as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Proficiency in basic hand and power tools, with the ability to learn and adapt to new equipment.
  • Dependability and reliability, with a strong commitment to scheduled work shifts and overtime.
  • Ability to learn basic railcar knowledge and safety procedures.
  • DOT Requirements certification a plus.
  • Ability to pass NDT disciplines and function-specific certifications, including tank car welding.
  • Ability to obtain Welding and Airbrake Test certifications within a reasonable timeframe.
