We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Shared Services Manager to oversee and optimize our shared service functions within Roers Companies. The Shared Services Manager will play a pivotal role in streamlining processes, enhancing efficiency, and driving continuous improvement across multiple departments.

Shared Services Management:

  • Supervise accounts payable, insurance, credit cards, billing, and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Review aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts receivable to minimize bad debt exposure.
  • Manage 3rd party customer relationships to support collections efforts and maintain positive business relationships, coordinate with property management team to troubleshoot customer issues as needed.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate favorable payment terms.
  • Support weekly and monthly reporting requirements to Controller and senior management, as needed.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication among project stakeholders, including team members, senior management, and other relevant parties.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the shared services team, including hiring, training, and performance management, to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Accounting Management:
  • Assist with aspects of the accounting function including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Manage and assist month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.
General Ledger Management
  • Oversee the general ledger accounting activities, which may include journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data recorded in the general ledger.
Technology Integration
  • Evaluate and implement technology solutions to automate manual processes and enhance the effectiveness of shared service functions.
  • Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to integrate systems and tools for seamless operation.
Internal Controls and Compliance
  • Establish and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with auditors for periodic audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
Continuous Improvement
  • Lead and assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Encourage feedback and ideas from team members to drive innovation and process enhancements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience (3 years) in a similar role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • High level of comfort with advanced Excel functions and formulas
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with ERP systems and other relevant technology platforms.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
