Purchasing Assistant

Pay: $18 - $20/hr
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
As a Purchasing Assistant, you will work closely with buyers and senior buyers to establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal customers, ensuring the timely delivery of materials to meet production needs. You will assist in placing purchase orders, tracking delivery statuses, and addressing any schedule conflicts or delays.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage purchase orders for materials and parts
- Monitor open purchase orders and track delivery status
- Resolve delivery delays and communicate issues with suppliers
- Liaise between internal teams and external suppliers for quality, delivery, or engineering issues
- Maintain files, system records, and generate reports
- Support buyers in financial control, risk management, and supplier invoice reconciliation
- Ensure safety standards are met and follow all workplace safety protocols
- High School Diploma
- Less than 1 year of experience in materials/purchasing
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- High integrity and a sense of urgency
- Weekly pay via direct deposit or pay card
