The Ruhlin Company is seeking to hire experienced CARPENTER FOREMEN (specializing in concrete formwork for roadway and structures) and LABOR FOREMEN (specializing in roadway and structures) for Ruhlin's Civil Division. Job openings are available in both Northeast Ohio and Columbus Ohio. Summary: Frontline supervisor responsible for overseeing a specific crew of employees on a jobsite. Responsibilities: Administrative Data entry, writing documents and creating reports; managing paperwork in a neat and orderly fashion. Cost Track work hours and ensure employees are paid properly. Assign proper phase codes for work hours in HCSS. Report quantities. General Direct employees’ daily work activities in accordance with the contract and Company, safety, and quality practices and policies. Ensure employees have the necessary tools and materials needed to perform assigned work. Interact with the superintendent and/or general foreman frequently to receive instructions and supply requested information (crew member times, task completion status, tool or material needs, etc.) Assist in ensuring Company equipment is properly maintained through daily maintenance. Complete daily paperwork such as field reports and schedule updates in a timely and efficient manner Conduct and/or attend project and staff meetings, including toolbox safety talks and training, as required. Bring to the attention of the Superintendent, in a timely manner, any employee relations issues that arise such as inadequate work performance or policy violations. Ensure all tasks are performed efficiently and effectively and within the allocated budget. Maintain a work environment free of harassment, intimidation, or coercion. Cooperate fully in achieving the Company’s equal employment opportunity objectives. Perform additional assignments as directed by the Superintendent. Safety Accountable for safety; ensure all employees adhere to Company safety policies. Promote a positive safety culture by encouraging participation in safety incentive programs, safe work practices, and safety initiative campaigns. Conduct job hazard analysis (JHA), toolbox talks, and safety inspections. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Willingness and ability to work some non-traditional work hours (evenings and weekends). Ability to effectively supervise employees. Ability to read plan drawings and understand specifications. Ability and willingness to learn various types of technology including but not limited to: HCSS/Heavy Job, iPhone, iPad.
