Position Description: 

The Alcon Information Technology, Transformation & Continuous Improvement (ITCI) function is looking for numerous talented and motivated Interns to join us during a Summer 2024 Internship opportunity at our Fort Worth, TX campus. Alcon interns will have the chance to gain industry experience and network with other Alcon professionals.  They will also have the chance to make a real-world impact by working on meaningful projects that will help patients and customers see brilliantly.  Alcon also offers interns personal and professional development, high visibility and coaching and mentoring opportunities. 

We are looking to fill Intern positions from the following majors: Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Information Systems, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Information Security 

As an Alcon ITCI Intern, you may be placed into the following teams: 

  • Enterprise Software & Application (ESA): Manages key enterprise platforms (IRIS SAP, ServiceNow, Finance, Alfresco, Application Engineering, and others). We are transforming our business through standardized processes, stronger collaboration and globally integrated systems and building technology strategies across corporate functions. 

  • Information Assurance (IA) - Providing streamlined, stable & secure global IT Services, by bringing Cyber Security & Compliance together.     

  • Infrastructure Services (IS) – Focusing on keeping Alcon associates optimally productive by administering and managing technology, information and data in a proactive way. Our scope ranges from the desktop to networking, storage, data and cloud-based services. 

  • Digital Technology & Data (DTD) - Advancing technical digital capabilities and increasing the value gained through data insights across Alcon. 

Some of the projects may include: 

  • Provide Alcon resilient, secure and future ready technical foundation for business solutions  

  • Internal Process Improvement and Optimization within Corporate IT  

  • ERP Manufacturing process and Digital Manufacturing Assessment  

  • Multiple Digital Business Initiatives including Machine Learning 

  • Supply Chain ERP process: Order Management / E-commerce  

  • Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Data Integrity  

  • Cloud Security Transformation 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship or co-op, and at least one additional semester following internship or co-op

  • Must be pursuing at least a bachelor’s level degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Information Systems, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Information Security

  • Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0. 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e., extracurricular activities or projects)

  • Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT may be accommodated)

  • Ability to commit to a 10–12-week, full time (40 hours per week) summer internship

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Prior experience in software engineering experience and statistics  

  • Prior experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office  

  • Hands on experience with SQL, Python AWS, Excel, Tableau 

  • Exposure to data analytics, reporting and scripting  

  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment  

  • Innovative mindset and problem solver  

  • Excellent written communication skills  

  • Prior experience as a security analyst
