Understand, decompose, and define product and process requirements to support product development, sustaining and R&D. Produce thorough and accurate design and development work of suitable complexity that meets all customer specifications and company requirements for schedule, cost, producibility, quality, and reliability. Utilize proficient problem solving processes, documentation, tools and analyses to quickly and effectively identify root cause and corrective actions to technical challenges and/or issue in support of product development and product sustaining assignments Generate and review product development documentation including proposals, technical reports, procedures, correspondence, etc. necessary to satisfy customer and program requirements. Contribute to all Systems Engineering aspects (architecture and components) from initial product research, architecture definition, requirements definition, requirements validation, systems verification, management and flow down to functional engineering groups Experience leading system development activities following industry recognized processes (e.g. ARP4754) Lead the development of System Safety analyses such as reliability predictions, Failure Modes and Effect Analyses, Fault Tree Analysis, Common Mode Analysis and Single Event Upset analysis (ARP4761) Participate in the certification compliance activities of essential and critical level control systems for aircraft applications Any other task assigned by supervisor or management Minimum Qualifications: Experience: 8+ years of relevant work experience Education/Certification: BA or BS Degree in an engineering discipline. Knowledge: Experience of system development following industry recognized processes (e.g. ARP4754) Familiarity with DO178, DO254 and DO160 Knowledge of the general principles involved with the development of Transformer Rectifier Units, Power Conditioning Units, DC-DC Converters, Magnetics, Battery Chargers, Landing Gear Control and Indication Systems, Door and Slide Control and Indication Systems and Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems. Understands Systems Engineering principles, including interpreting and writing requirements, system architectures and designs Knowledge of requirements management, validation and verification. Familiarity with multi physics modeling and simulation (i.e. Simulink) Familiarity with circuit analysis and power supply topologies Familiarity with Software development lifecycle Skills/Abilities Working knowledge of requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS) highly desirable Eligibility Requirement: This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered.
