Responsibilities Maintains necessary information within financial systems to meet financial management objectives and to provide effective and efficient financial management controls. Responsible for performing various accounts receivable functions; This includes but is not limited to Recording all receivable transactions including bills, receipts, adjustments, collection attempts , interactions with customers, and other activities that affect the account, issue notices of outstanding debts, and referrals to Treasury and the Centralized Receivables Service for delinquent debts. Responsible for the daily reconciliation of cash collections and providing documentation to designated staff person for validation and approval. Serves as an technical authority on financial management issues, concerning the Revenue and Receivables Operations Groups’ responsibility for accounts receivable activities. Ensures the timely disposition of all financial documents and the accuracy of summary data incorporated in the Commission’s reports. Evaluating accounts receivable programs, policy, processes, and systems to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Preparing and reviewing ad hoc reports to FCC management, financial and other auditors. Prepares, updates, examines, and analyzes a variety of reports as requested. In order to be considered for this position, applicants must: -Currently be employed in the Federal Communications Commission in positions serving under career or career conditional appointments. Experience using automated accounting systems to process and review accounts receivable transactions.
