Job Summary

We are in search of a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) specialized in performance testing. As an integral member of our Quality Engineering (QE) team, you will employ your technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of AWS Cloud services to design, implement, and manage performance testing strategies. Your role is crucial in understanding the intricate interactions between cloud services, identifying potential points of failure, and proactively ensuring our software's reliability and performance. Join us in our mission to excel in delivering products that not only meet but exceed our customers' expectations. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive test strategy, focusing on performance testing, for all Samsung private cloud products

  • Plan and execute performance tests for cloud services and measure their performance, scalability and reliability

  • Review and troubleshoot cloud service issues, understand their root causes, and provide feedback to the teams

  • Create automation test cases using Python , Terraform and other tools

  • Work closely with Developers and DevOps. Ensure automated script integration with CI/CD

  • Ensure test scripts and test data are expanded and updated as new features are implemented

  • Find, isolate, document and track bugs (in Jira) through resolution

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders from Development, Project Management, Product Management, and other QA team members.  Proactively seek out and share information with team members

  • Promote test automation in early stages of development

  • Bring in new ideas and initiative to improve productivity

Skills & Competencies
  • Proficient in Python programming, with hands-on experience using the Pytest framework for developing robust testing solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience with AWS services (compute, storage, and networking )

  • Practical experience with infrastructure as code, specifically using Terraform, to automate the deployment of AWS resources.

  • In-depth knowledge of performance testing strategies, including the ability to design and execute tests to identify and mitigate bottlenecks in software applications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members across different time zones and locations.

  • Ownership -Take ownership of projects, ensuring excellence in execution and accountability for results.  Foster a sense of responsibility and pride in delivering high-quality work

  • Innovation - Drive innovation by proposing and implementing creative solutions to challenges.  Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies, bringing fresh ideas to the table

Education & Experience
  • BS degree, Computer Science, Engineering is preferred

  • AWS Certification like AWS certified cloud practitioner or higher

  • 5+ years of QA test automation development experience

  • 2+ years of experience working with Locust (preferable), jmeter

  • 2+ years of experience working with Terraform

  • Experience working with AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC) and usage of AWS CLI and Boto3

  • Experience in developing an automated testing suite integrated with a build system like Git, Docker, and Jenkins.

  • Experience debugging, patching, refactoring, and code reviewing existing automated test suites

  • Experience designing and executing comprehensive test plans

  • Experience working in a collaborative environment

Nice to Have 
  • Experience in Github actions

  • Experience using Kubernetes (AWS EKS)

**Bay area local candidates will need to report to the Mountain View office at least three times per week

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation for this position will vary among specific regions due to geographical differentials in the labor market, and actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills, experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.  Therefore, the annual base compensation range for this role (depending on the geographical location) is expected to be between $125000 and $165000.

Regular full-time employees (salaried or hourly) have access to benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Employee Purchase Program, Vacation and Sick leave, electronic reimbursement and many more. In addition, regular full-time employees (salaried or hourly) are eligible for bonus compensation based on individual, department, and company performance.
