What You'll Do

As an I & E Tech, you will maintain, repair, troubleshoot, or replace plant
electrical and instrument equipment. You will be responsible for performing new construction and/or modification in
conformance with electrical code requirements. Other duties include:
  • Receives assignment for work to be performed and discuss any unusual or complex problems with supervisor.
  • Familiar with plant process/operation.
  • Assists the Maintenance Technician with the troubleshooting and repair of motor control circuits, field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, etc.) control valves (rebuild, repack, stroke, calibrate positioner, etc.) plant shutdown systems (logic), lighting and heating systems, single loop controllers, DCS.
  • Develop the ability to utilize diagnostic test equipment for repairs of instrument and electrical equipment
  • Other duties as assigned by the I&E Supervisor or Maintenance Superintendent.
    Willingness to work overtime and be on call as required.
    Performs all work within plant safety rules and procedures.
  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety. (Ensure SAO, JSA, Take 5's, stretching, and all safety rules are being completed.)
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
  • Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.
  • Supports BEx initiatives and ensures participation from all areas of responsibility
What We're Looking For:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • I&E Tech for 18 months
  • Knowledge of maintenance tools and their proper application.
  • Must have aptitude for working with electrical and Instrumentation equipment
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
